FAQ

What do we believe...

...about Holy Communion?
We celebrate the real presence of Christ in the bread & wine of Holy Communion. In this meal, we are given forgiveness of sins, life and salvation. At Our Savior’s we practice an open table - all are welcome and invited to share in the gift of God’s grace and mercy.

...about Baptism?
Baptism is God’s welcome into the Christian faith. Baptism is a onetime event, with promises that last forever. By water and the Word, God delivers us from sin and death and raises us to new life in Jesus. We are united with all the baptized in the one body of Christ, anointed with the gift of the Holy Spirit and joined in God´s mission for the life of the world. All are welcomed to be baptized.

Our Savior’s is a church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). For more information about the ELCA and what we believe, click the link below.

When do you have Holy Communion?
We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday at each worship service! During the program year, we also share in communion as part of our weekly Confirmation classes and during our midweek Lenten worships.

As Lutherans, we celebrate the real presence of Christ in the bread and wine of Holy Communion. In this meal, we are given forgiveness of sins, life and salvation. At Our Savior’s, we practice an open table, meaning all are welcome and invited to share in the gift of God’s grace and mercy.

Gluten free wafers and white grape juice are offered. If you do not wish to partake the communion, but still wish to receive a blessing, come forward and make this request to the pastor serving communion.

BIBLE VERSES

For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved. Romans 10:10
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God — not the result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
